functions:
nucleus--- chromatin.
thread like structures that contain hereditary materials. also, it controls the cell activities. when chromatin condenses, it forms chromosomes.
cytoplasm--- ER(S and R), ribosomes, golgi apparatus, mitochondria.
Endoplasmic Reticulum:
Smooth---- more tubular than the R, connected to R, synthesizes fats and steroids, detoxifies harmful substances, no ribosomes attached.
Rough---- ribosomes attached, transports substances from ribosomes to the golgi apparatus, it has a nuclear envelope.
Ribosomes:
it synthesises proteins, it has a small round structure, free:in the cell. Attached:out of the cell.
Golgi apparatus:
disc like, modifies subs and secretes it out of the cell; vesicles present; packages the substances in the vesicles for secretion out of the cell.
Mitochondria:
sausage-like structure. Aerobic respiration. Oxidizes the food to produce energy.
